In collaboration with Envision The Patient, the Workgroup of European Cancer Patient Advocacy Networks (<a href=\"https:\/\/wecanadvocate.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WECAN<\/a>) has developed a <a href=\"https:\/\/wecanadvocate.eu\/patients-in-publications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series of online training modules<\/a> on patient engagement in publications.<\/p>\n<p>Four open access modules are available, targeting patient advocates authoring or reviewing scientific publications. The modules cover the following topics:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wecanadvocate.eu\/patients-in-publications\/module1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Module 1<\/a>: introduction<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>key stages in the publication process<\/li>\n<li>guidelines on ethical considerations for publications<\/li>\n<li>author responsibilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wecanadvocate.eu\/patients-in-publications\/module-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Module 2<\/a>: publication planning<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the role of the Publication Steering Committee<\/li>\n<li>the value of a publication plan<\/li>\n<li>considerations when selecting a journal or congress<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wecanadvocate.eu\/patients-in-publications\/module-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Module 3<\/a>: publication writing<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>key guidelines for publication development<\/li>\n<li>content that should be included in a publication<\/li>\n<li>professional medical writing versus ghost writing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wecanadvocate.eu\/patients-in-publications\/module-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Module 4<\/a>: submission, peer review &amp;
